Tasc Pension Update: Making Pensions Work for People

26 January 2010

"Ireland cannot rely on personal pensions to improve income adequacy for lower income groups".  That was the conclusion reached by several speakers at today's launch of Personal Provision of Retirement Income: Meeting the Needs of Older People?, edited by Jim Stewart and Gerry Hughes, which was followed by a presentation of TASC's updated pension policy proposals ...

As well as Jim Stewart and Gerry Hughes, speakers included economist and journalist Colm Rapple, who formally launched the book, Pierre Concialdi and Heinz-Dietrich Steinmeyer, who authored chapters in the book and spoke on the experiences in France and Germany, and TASC Head of Policy Sinead Pentony, who presented TASC's updated pension policy proposals.
