We are delighted to share TASC’s Annual Report for 2024. This report reflects our continued work to strengthen equality, democracy, and social justice across Ireland. Over the past year, we have deepened our research, expanded our public engagement, and strengthened key partnerships.
The impact of our work continues to grow. We have seen progress ranging from better household financial resilience to the development and launch of new initiatives shaped through the People’s Transition. Impact matters to us, and true to our name, we remain committed to being active agents in driving social change.

Highlights of TASC’s work in 2024
• Moving forward with People’s Transition Phase III. This phase goes beyond individual community projects and builds a shared network for learning and collaboration, responding to strong interest from charities, community leaders, and institutions
• Publishing the Annual Inequality Report with a dedicated focus on education and equal access to opportunity
• Expanding our Democracy Stream to better understand how inequality affects democratic systems and to explore practical ways to strengthen participation and civic trust
• Advancing research on unequal access to healthcare and social supports, and how these challenges weaken communities, the economy, and democratic resilience
• Increasing focus on the links between inequality, trust, democracy, and technology, including the social and labour effects of AI and what these mean for climate justice and public well-being
This work remains rooted in evidence and guided by the needs of communities, policymakers, and the wider public. It reflects our mission to combine research, dialogue, and action to support a fairer, more inclusive Ireland
Looking Ahead
As Ireland faces rising inequality, climate pressures, and economic uncertainty, we also see important opportunities to build a fairer and more resilient future. TASC will continue to deepen our partnerships with policymakers, civil society, and communities, focusing on practical, evidence-based solutions that strengthen equality and democratic participation.
