Former Irish President Michael D. Higgins, a long-time supporter of TASC, penned a letter to our chairperson commemorating TASC’s 25th anniversary, printed below: Dear Mike, I would be very grateful if you would convey my warmest greetings to all those attending the 25-year celebration of the important campaigning, analysis and advocacy associated with TASC. That work has been so important and remains so in the new circumstances where we find ourselves with an immense growth of think tanks, foundations and academies that proliferate the status quo and orthodox views. Their work is creating a crisis of democracy. And the alternative voice that combines social justice, democratic inclusion and ecological responsibility is more essential than ever. I have been delighted with every encounter I’ve been able to have with members and supporters of TASC, and I wish you all the greatest success in the challenging circumstances in which we now find ourselves.
