🗺️ New interactive map 'unboxes' Dublin's data centres

TASC analysis has found that nearly 90% of Dublin's data centres are in areas experiencing economic deprivation. A new interactive map made by TASC Technology Researcher Molly Newell tracks 97 active and planned data centre buildings across the greater Dublin area alongside local socio-economic data. The map allows users to:
- View active and planned data centre sites in Dublin
- Compare locations against deprivation levels
- Identify emerging infrastructure clusters
- Explore the geography of Ireland’s digital economy
This map is a part of the new initiative 'Fadhb Bosca Liath,' or 'Grey Box Problem,' which refers to the lack of transparency surrounding the operations of data centres. By making the location of data centres more publicly accessible, this project takes a step towards demystifying the presence of data centres in communities.
