TASC Participates in GEMINI Partners Meeting in Sligo

TASC joined partners from across the island of Ireland for the GEMINI project’s biannual meeting in Sligo, focused on advancing geothermal energy deployment.
Partners visited the Sligo Regional Sports Centre demonstration site, where a shallow geothermal system is being developed to decarbonise the building and swimming pool through a vertical closed-loop collector system drilled 200 metres underground. The project is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions and demonstrate the potential of geothermal heating for public buildings.
The meeting brought together organisations from government, academia, industry, and civil society to share progress, strengthen collaboration, and support the transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy systems.
