The People's Transition Ardara, Donegal

TASC Climate Justice centre team members, Séan McCabe and Suzie Cahn were in Donegal on October 9th for the final Ardara event of the People's Transition pilot.

The event served as an opportunity for the TASC team to present the findings and proposed solutions for the People’s Transition Pilot to the community and receive their feedback. The meeting took place at the Nesbitt Arms Hotel in Ardara and was attended by community members, representatives of the Local Development Company, Donegal Changemakers and Deputy Thomas Pringle.

The proposed solutions for Ardara are a biochar cooperative and a large scale seaweed farm through which the community would benefit from a 30% profit share. Attendees heard presentations from experts on both solutions. Community feedback was taken on board and will inform the final community report, due in November.
